I love memory games. My whole family, especially my 14 year old, loves music games. When we learned bout Loopz, a new memory game that involves music, we simply had to check it out.
About Loopz – Combining music, memory and motion, LOOPZ will challenge your rhythm and reflexes as you try to repeat its changing patterns of light and music. Accommodating up to 4 players and with 7 different game modes, Loopz is a blast for both kids and adults!

We have really enjoyed playing Loopz. The game is just the one piece and has a built in stand, so there’s no pieces or anything to worry about storing or losing. The game has a great age range, suggested ages 7 and up. Up to four people can play Loopz and there are 7 different games modes to choose from.
- Repeat the Beat – Repeat an ever-increasing pattern of lights.
- Reflex Master – “Tag” as many lights as you can before time runs out!
- Rhythm & Flow – Keep a song going by waving your hands through the loops whenever they light up.
- Musicology – Build songs one instrument at a time by repeating random sequences of lights.
- Freestyle DJ – Remix the music in Loopz by turning tracks on and off.
- Music Studio – Play Loopz like a musical instrument.
- Versus Mode – Two players take turns building and repeating a sequence until one player makes 3 mistakes.
Loopz is easy to play. All you need to do is wave your hand through the appropriate loopz, following the pattern. The game is a great fit with families with members of different ages, partially because there are so many ways to play it and partially because more than one player can play it. My youngest, 11, did understand the principle of the game but most of the time it was a bit too fast for him. I enjoyed it a lot, despite the fact that I am definitely not a great player. I find myself laughing pretty hard when I miss. We brought this camping with us and it was a fun way to spend some family down time. My oldest, 14, picked it up and mastered it right away.
For a little taste of what Loopz can do, check out the Loopz Band. Five guys got together to produce one-of-a-kind songs using nothing but the Loopz music and memory game. Follow along to see where the Loopz Band will show up next!
