It’s no big secret. I have somewhat of a dirty mind. Suggestion and innuendo crack me up and get me giggling like a schoolgirl. When I received an email introducing me to the Balls brand of vodka I just had to check it out for myself.
Not only do I enjoy somewhat off-color humor, I admire boldness. Hootzpah. Balls. The brand name of this vodka will grab your attention but it’s the flavor that will hold you there. The names of the bottle sizes is simple and just makes me giggle. But enough about the suggestive marketing humor, more about the vodka itself.
Its that time of year when Balls, 100% American-made, Vodka shows you what it’s made of. After its initial launch in 2011, Balls Vodka exploded onto the scene with a ballsy 80-proof booze. And the truth of the matter is, in the Hammer Mill used to grind the corn it actually comes out 192-proof, yet through an ingenious solution created by elite vodka scientists, an efficient filtration system through NY water (the best in the nation we might add) gets you a solid 80-proof cocktail base. Mix it, Shake it, Stir it, Shoot it straight up – it’s a smooth flavor that doesn’t bite back.
Some of my favorite drinks involve vodka. Screwdriver. Sea breeze. Sex on the beach. Long Island iced tea. I could have made any of those, but I wanted to change things up a little. So I took two of my favorite fruits, added some Balls and made a slush. It was so good! Here’s how I made it.

INGREDIENTS
1 pint fresh strawberries
2 cups Watermelon
1/2 cup vodka
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 cups ice cubes
INSTRUCTIONS
Remove any seeds from the watermelon and cut into small cubes.
Hull the strawberries and cut them into quarters.
Place watermelon, strawberries, vodka, and lemon juice into the blender.
Add ice slowly, and blend until mixture is a frothy slush.
Drink immediately.

Oh a slushy for adults, yes please. I do not normally drink any hard liquor, but am totally game for vodka and trying this! I have had cranberry juice and vodka or orange juice and vodka.

I'll be honest and admit that I don't drink a lot of vodka but this really looks like a refreshing drink! I might just have to try this out for our end of summer cookout.
