Banana bread is so yummy. There have been a couple of times in the past where I put cream cheese on my banana bread, so it only make sense to make it with the cream cheese inside. This simple recipe makes 2 loaves.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 medium bananas
- 8oz cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Spray two 8 x 4-inch loaf pans with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until combined. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in bananas, and vanilla.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pans.
Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool pans on wire racks for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and place onto plate or serving dish.
Serve as you wish, immediately if you like it slightly warm like I do, or after sitting another 10 minutes for a cooler bread.

This is by far the best banana bread recipe I've ever tried. Thank you so much for posting this. I've never made banana bread this good! I used 1/4 teaspoon salt.

It does state to mix the cinnamon in with the flour, baking soda etc. I caught it because I accidentally grabbed the Lawry's seasoned salt instead. oops. lol

I made this just now. And it's didn't say when to add the cinnamon. Also did you ever find how much salt to use? When u say add sugar was that suppose to be both sugars or just that granulated because it doesn't specify. It smells amazing.

Great banana bread, except the recipe does not show how long to cook, how much salt and pecans to use! And how to put the bananas in... sliced, mashed??

I don't use nuts. The bananas were room temp, broken into two or three large pieces. I apologize, must find my notes and check the salt.

Wow this sounds amazing. I have nerve put cream cheese in banana bread before. I bet it gives it a little moisture and a nice taste. I have made banana bread with vanilla yogurt in it. Only problem is it seems to moist to me. I can't wait to try your recipe. Thanks!
