Saw this on my porch. Very interesting thing, moved much faster then I expected. No idea what it is and which it will someday become, a butterfly or a moth.

I think that’s a monarch caterpillar 🙂 We’ve had a lot of monarchs around here this year, they are so pretty!

Totally a monarch caterpillar! They eat milkweed, so if you have that around it’s their favorite place to hang out. We had it all around the garage when I was a kid – butterflies EVERYWHERE. 🙂

I don’t have them around my home in the desert, but I can tell that he is going to be such a big beautiful monarch after his metamorphosis.

I am going to go with what others have said. A monarch caterpillar. To be honest, I really have no idea. But it is pretty.

Hate crawly things until they morph and fly.

I am with the Monarch butterfly crowd on this one. At our second home in Crete we have a TON of creepy crawlies that I am not familiar with. I am always taking pictures and trying to find out what they are on the interweb….other than any spiders, which send me ballistic! Give me a caterpillar or wormy thing anyday.

That is a Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar. I caught one once and kept it in a jar until it spun then emerged from it’s cocoon. Very interesting to watch.
