Mom Knows It All DIY Valentine's Day Craft - Upcycled Love Crayon Organizer

Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples and lovers. It’s a day where anyone can express sentiment for anyone else. Children like to give to their friends and even their family members, including parents. The best time to teach that it’s the sentiment or thought that counts as opposed to the gift is in early childhood. Coloring and other crafts are a terrific way to encourage creativity and imagination, and they also encourage fine motor skills and concentration. This DIY project shows step-by-step instructions on how to make a Valentine’s Day themed crayon organizer. Because this particular craft uses an old tin can, it is budget friendly and it encourages upcycling. Let’s get started!

Step 3. Paint the red acrylic paint starting from the bottom of the tin can all the way up in the middle while the white acrylic paint is still wet. You have to blend the red to the white paint one your reach the middle part of the tin can. This includes the LOVE word that is already embossed to the tin can itself.

Step 4. Let the paint dry for an hour of two.

This LOVE crayon organizer is a cute and fun way of organizing crayons, or pens and pencils. It’s a fun, affordable craft that can be appreciated by all. Hope your child likes it! Happy Valentine’s Day!

My granddaughter would find this crayon organizer awesome. It will be so pretty to see on her little work desk. I’m trying my hand at making this, but wish me luck because I don’t have real crafty hands like yours. 🙂

I love that you reuse tin cans with this craft–the less in the landfill the better. Of course they can be recycled in the recycle bin as well! This is a great way to hold crayons, pens and pencils and you can do any of the holidays!
