I was working on a recipe using sandwich steaks the other day. I had some extra steak, and a can of biscuits whose expiration date had arrived. I decided to put the two together and see what happened. Steak And Cheese Biscuits is what happened. If you like biscuits and if you like steak you will probably love this recipe. Hubby isn’t crazy about biscuits because they tend to be too blah and dry for him. He said these were pretty good because biscuits weren’t boring because they had flavor of meat, cheese, and sauce, and also that the cheese and sauce kept them from being dry. These are great as an appetizer or snack, or even as a fun meal. So here’s how I made them.

Steak And Cheese Biscuits


  • 1 tin jumbo biscuits (contains 8 biscuits)
  • 2 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lb boneless round sandwich steak
  • 1/2 cup sauce (I used a chunky tomato, garlic and onion sauce)


Preheat oven to 350 f.

Brown the steaks in a little olive oil. Do not overcook, steaks can even be on the rare side.

Slice the biscuits in half, meaning so the thickness is half.

When the steak is cooked cut it into squares slightly smaller then the biscuit.

Place 2-3 pieces of the steak onto each biscuit. Use 8 biscuit halves. Do not use the other 8 halves.

Place about a tablespoon full of sauce on top of the steak.

Sprinkle a little cheese on top of the sauce.

Place the remaining 8 biscuit halves on top of the others, making a sandwich. Pinch closed all the way around.

You should have something that looks like this.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.

Remove from oven and serve immediately with sauce on the side.
