I received a copy of Triple Slow Cooker Entertaining. I absolutely love my slow cooker. I have seen the triple slow cookers in the store and knew they’d be great for holidays, but never really thought about them for regular dinners and entertaining.

Chapters include:

Part 1: Entertaining with Your Triple Slow Cooker

  • Slow Cooker Know-How
  • Ready, Set, Party
  • Party Plans

Part 2: Recipes for the Triple Slow Cooker

  • Dips and Cheese Fondues
  • Appetizers and Snacks
  • Soups, Chilis and Sauces
  • Main Dishes
  • Sides and Salads
  • Sweet Endings and Hot Drinks

I like that each chapter has a table of contents of it’s own, making recipes easy to find. The recipes in this cookbook are all very easy to understand. I looked through most of the book and the recipes that I saw all seemed to call for ordinary ingredients that you’d find in a typical kitchen or grocery store. Recipes don’t have cooking or prep time, two things I find so helpful when using a cookbook. The cookbook doesn’t have many photos, there are only about two dozen of them I wish there were more photos, being as photos are useful in that they help a person determine what to make and let you know if yours looks right. Recipes that I’m thinking I’d like to try include French Onion Soup, Roasted Tomato Basil Soup, Slow-Smoked Beef Brisket, Hot Browns, Parmesan Herb Potato Casserole, German Potato Salad, Creamy Parmesan Polenta and Cheesecake Fondue. The party plans are perfect for those that aren’t sure what goes with what, or just need help planning or haven’t done much entertaining before. This cookbook would be great for anyone starting out.

I would love to have a triple slow cooker set! They would definitely be used for parties and gatherings! It seems like you can make so many different recipes just going by your summary of this book. A lot of things I didn’t even know could be cooked by the slow cooker! I guess for salads they mean warm vegetable salads (like potato). I would love to try various soups, chilis, and casseroles if given the chance to use the triple slow cookers for a party menu. It’s too bad the cookbook doesn’t have prep time and photos. I agree that those would be really helpful.

Thanks for your review. I’ve seen the triple slow cookers and wondered what in the world I might use one for. Now I know they’re not really suited to our current lifestyle. So thanks–one more thing to cross off my wish list!

I love my slow cooker. I am like you I have never thought of buying a triple slow cooker for everyday use. I also like cookbooks with pictures and prep time info. So this may not be a slow cooker cookbook for me. Thanks for the review!
