Pretzel Crusted Meatloaf Calzone Recipe

Wondering what to do with those meatloaf leftovers? Here’s a really tasty recipe that’s very easy to prepare. It makes two really nice sized calzones, so can either feed 2-4 depending on how hungry someone is and if they want to share.

Pretzel Crusted Meatloaf Calzone

Ingredients

  • 1 lb meatloaf (4-6 decent sized slices)
  • 1 tin refrigerated pizza crust (I used Pillsbury Thin Pizza Crust)
  • 4 pretzels (crushed) OR crumbs and salt from bottom of pretzel bag
  • olive oil

Instructions

Your meatloaf is already cooked. All you need to do with it to get it ready is cut a few slices.

Take the dough out of the tin.

Leave the roll whole and split the dough into two halves.

Roll out each half of the dough.

Place the meatloaf in the middle of the dough.

Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top of the meatloaf.

Fold the sides of the dough in.

Fold the top and bottom of the dough into the middle and press to seal. Turn over so the seam is on the bottom.

Brush or run the dough with a little olive oil.

Sprinkle the crushed pretzels over the dough.

Bake according to instructions for the dough and until your calzone is turning golden brown, which for me was about 13 minutes.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or ketchup.
