One-Pot Smoked Sausage Mac & Cheese beefs up the flavor of a classic favorite by adding smoked sausage. Preparing this simple recipe in the Ninja Cooking System turns the dish into a filling one-pot meal that is perfect for a quick meal on a busy night.
One-Pot Smoked Sausage Mac & Cheese
It’s been a really busy week. Last night after work I had to whip up a meal. I had a package of smoked sausage on hand but didn’t really have the time to stand in front of the stove cooking. I decided to use the Ninja Cooking System, to turn it into a one-pot comfort food meal. Smoked sausage really beefs up the flavor (pun intended) of a classic favorite comfort food. This recipe results in a filling one-pot meal that is perfect for a quick meal on a busy night. Here’s how I make One-Pot Smoked Sausage Mac & Cheese.
This recipe makes approximately 4 servings.
Equipment Needed

- Ninja Cooking System
- silicone cooking spoon
- measuring cups
Ingredients
- 12 oz beef smoked sausage (I used Hillshire Farms)
- 8 oz pasta bowties
- 3 cups beef broth
- 8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1x 14.5 oz can petite diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- olive oil
Instructions
Place a small amount of olive oil into the bottom of the Ninja’s pot.
Set the Ninja to cook on stovetop high.
While the Ninja heats for a couple of minutes, slice the smoked susageinto “coins”.
Put the smoked sausage pieces into the pot and saute them for few minutes until they are starting to brown.
Place the pasta into the pot, followed by the beef broth and seasonings.
Stir thoroughly and try to cover as much of the pasta as possible with the broth.
Add the tomatoes to the pot and give a quick gentle stir.
Cover the pot and bring its contents to a boil.
Cook for approximately 13-15 minutes, depending on if you prefer your pasta al dente or a little softer.
Turn the Ninja off.
Add the cheese to the pot and stir thoroughly until the cheese is melted.
The mixture should look like it has a very tiny amount of liquid left in it, which will thicken.
Serve immediately.

Mac & Cheese is one of those meals that you can either leave as is and love it or change it up and it makes it feel like it is a completely new meal, something never served before….that is why I love keeping noodles on hand so I can make recipes like this!
