Did you see my Ninja Kitchen 3-in-1 Cooking System review yesterday? I am in love with this appliance. I used it again last night to make a meal inspired by a dish I have often when I go out to a local restaurant. I thought it would be fun to make an at home version. The resulting dish was super tasty. You can use whatever BBQ sauce you like, the one we used gives it a little kick without being excessive or being accompanied by too much spice or heat. Here’s how I made it. Wait till you see how tough this was to make. ๐
INGREDIENTS
- 6 large potatoes, peeled and chunked
- 1 lb cooked chicken breast, chunked (I used 2x 9 oz packages of Perdue Short Cuts)
- 1x 40 oz Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (I used Hormel Crumbled Bacon)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1-2 cups Colby & Jack shredded cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
Pour the sauce over the potatoes.
Place the chicken and bacon on top of the sauce.
Cook on stovetop high for 30 minutes, stirring 2-3 times.
Sprinkle shredded cheese liberally on top and serve.
Wasn’t that ridiculously simple?

I love one pot meals! I’ve been thinking about buying one of these ninja Cookers. Off to check out your review!
one pot meals make things so much easier
I love a good one-pot meal! Fewer dishes to clean up after dinner!
This dish looks fantastic!
My hubby is a potato lover and I need to switch things a round in the kitchen. I think this recipe will be my next one to try!
Now this looks just perfect!
I found myself in my favorite department store yesterday in the home section looking at Ninjas.
This is a perfect recipe for crazy, hectic back-to-school schedules!
Wow! That does look easy (and tasty)! I’m going to have to a look at a Ninja!
I love one-pot dinners!
Easy one-pot dinners are the best!
I love one pot meals!
“Place the potatoes and bacon on top of the sauce.”
Shouldn’t that read “Place the chicken and bacon on top of the sauce.”?
Great recipe!! Thanks! ๐
Jeanine – No it shouldn’t as that isn’t the order I put them in. ๐
Don’t understand — can you explain the order — very confusing for such a simple recipe.
Pour the sauce over the potatoes.
Place the chicken and bacon on top of the sauce.
OK sorry I thought you told Jeanine that was not the order – but anyway – thanks. I am assuming the water goes on bottom. I found this on ninja recipes which have different settings so I am also assuming it is the stovetop setting (obviously not slow cooker and not oven setting). I did not have much luck with this recipe – really sweet but I guess it depends on the bbq sauce …
Was this on the stovetop setting or the slow cooker? wanna say stovetop but want to be sure before I attempt it. Thanks!
Stovetop. Hope you love it’s simplicity as much as I did!
