Here at the Jersey shore we’re on day two of digging out from under 20 inches of snow. We received the call yesterday that school today was canceled. So, while the adults have been shoveling, many of the kids have been playing in the snowdrifts. Watching kids make snow angels and snow forts, and seeing the snowball fights is a blast. The joy on the children’s faces is just wonderful to see. A good winter snowfall may make for a lot of shoveling, but it also makes for lots of memories and milestones.

Life Stages Milestone Moments Photo Contest

As parents we tend to remember the milestones, and often times we like to share them. There’s a photo contest taking place right now that celebrates milestones – the Life Stages Milestone Moments Photo Contest.

We only got about 7 or 8 inches during the storm, which is basically nothing, so we weren’t affected here in Boston. YAY.

I remember once, my youngest daughter tried to nurse her doll back to health when it’s arm got ripped. I wish I’d gotten that on film!

Jeanette January 25, 2016 - 6:43 pm

No we didn’t celebrate anything milestones this weekend, but we did go check out the Grand Canyon for the day. .

This is such a great way to capture those memories of our little ones! Time flies so quickly and before you know it, they’re grown. A perfect way to treasure these milestones.

Sounds like a great contest. People that are really into taking photos will enjoy this.

We didn’t get much of the blizzard here in Southern Ontario – just the usual amount for January. However, we did celebrate a milestone. It was my daughter’s Spiritual Birthday (the day she became a Christian), and we had cake and a special meal to celebrate. It was a great way to enjoy spending time together in spite of the cold weather outdoors!

Just a little bit of snow down here in SC. I couldnt believe it. I moved from WI to get away from the snow. Lol. This is such a cute contest though. Thanks for sharing.

We didn’t celebrate any milestones this weekend. We were snowed in and the kids enjoyed it.

Katalina @ Peas & Peonies January 25, 2016 - 9:56 pm

Well, we had a milestone these weekend, my son moved to the big kids room in pre-school, so like he said he is with the big guys now 🙂 and he also got to go on a snow slide for the first time, which was pretty fun.

lisa January 25, 2016 - 10:21 pm

I was hoping to get some snow here but we didn’t get anything. So unfortunately my milestones/memories in the snow this year will have to wait!

Jessica Simms January 25, 2016 - 10:35 pm

This looks like a fun photo contest! I will have to enter my baby girl in this.

Stefany January 25, 2016 - 11:40 pm

We were able to get out and have some fun in the snow. Those are memories my kids will want to remember for sure!

Bonnie @wemake7 January 26, 2016 - 7:39 am

What a great contest. We haven’t got much snow this year though, which surprises me.

pat.navymom January 26, 2016 - 9:40 am

We beat it home and prepared–a feat perhaps but probably not a milestone.

Melissa Dixon January 26, 2016 - 10:44 am

We have had the typical Iowa snow lately but not as often as usual so I am enjoying the minimal use of my snow blower this year.

Alison January 26, 2016 - 11:00 am

What a fun contest! I hadn’t heard of it before but no blizzard here for us on the West Coast. I’m in the PNW and we’ve had loads of snow, but nothing like the East Coast!

Ann Bacciaglia January 26, 2016 - 12:40 pm

This is a great contest. My friend was able to get her Daughter potty trained this week. We have been doing a lot of potty dancing and high fives.

OurFamilyWorld January 26, 2016 - 12:41 pm

We didn’t celebrate any milestones this weekend. This sounds like an awesome giveaway.

Chubskulit Rose January 26, 2016 - 12:41 pm

We celebrated my son’s 9th birthday so that was kind of abig milestone for him. We went to an indoor park which was fun!

Crystal Lopez January 26, 2016 - 12:51 pm

What a great way to save those milestones for the kiddos! I love keeping a record of cute pics with the kids.

Kathy January 26, 2016 - 1:59 pm

No new milestones that I can think of right now. We didn’t get hit with much snow like I have heard a lot of other states have. I saw some photos and it looked like some got hit with a ton of snow.

Chrystal | Nevermore Lane January 26, 2016 - 4:57 pm

No new milestones here. But I will pass this along to my friends with kids. Maybe they get on it before the deadline. Thank you!

Nicole Doumato January 26, 2016 - 7:55 pm

No new milestones since the year started but we are actively working on potty training so that’ll be achieved (hopefully) in the next few months!

Jesica H January 26, 2016 - 8:55 pm

It was my sons 5th birthday party this last weekend! We had a super heroes party, even the grown ups dressed up! Lots of fun!

Julie (xfallenmoon) January 27, 2016 - 1:18 am

Strangely enough, we got zero snow up in Montreal while you guys were getting buried. Lol. Nice change! For once we were enjoying decent winter weather. Woo!

Emma Spellman January 27, 2016 - 1:19 am

We took my sons to Chuck E Cheese for the first time a few days ago. They had a blast and it was a great milestone for them. It was awesome watching them play the games.

Rebecca Swenor January 27, 2016 - 1:26 am

This is an amazing contest and I love your photo with that huge smile on his face. I will have to share the Life Stages Milestone Moments Photo Contest with my niece and sister who have little ones. It is true that as parent we do love to capture the milestones and share them with the world. Thanks for sharing the contest..

Digna January 27, 2016 - 1:14 pm

Totally agree on how the snow could be a milestone. Major storms are never forgotten and we were hit here in Pa. so I can relate. This one will be a memory for sure!

HilLesha January 28, 2016 - 12:04 am

I have never experienced a blizzard before, but I’d hate to think about it since I hate the idea of being cooped in the house for a long time. The Midwest did get a little snow, though!

Marielle Altenor January 28, 2016 - 12:31 am

Having kids means there is always memories being made. For me a recent milestone was my daughter flipping on her stomach and then she turned on her back. I may or may not have freaked her out when I cheered! lol
