Ziti is nice and simple to make. And so yummy if it has lots of ooey gooey cheese! I had some sweet Italian sausage and some ground beef that I had to use up. I decided to cook them up and put them in ziti. I added cream cheese, which gave it a slightly different taste and made it a tad creamier then my typical ziti. This is very tasty and very filling. Here’s how I made it.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage
- 1 lb ziti
- 1x 23 oz jar marinara sauce
- 12 oz shredded mozzarella (split into 8 oz and 4 oz)
- 8 oz cream cheese (melted)
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbp garlic powder
Preheat the oven to 350.
Boil pasta until al dente.
Brown sausage links in one pan and ground beef in another.
When sausage is cooked cut into small chunks or slices. (Or if you find it easier, cut it before you cook it.)
Drain pasta and put back in pan.
Add 8 oz of mozzarella and the cream cheese and stir well.
Add the seasonings and stir well.
Add the ground beef and the sausage to the pasta and stir well.
Sprinkle the remaining 4 oz of cheese across the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Serve immediately with salt and pepper to taste.
