This Instant Pot Slow Cooker Chicken Parm Soup recipe works in an Instant Pot, and should also work in just about any slow cooker. This flavorful soup will delight your family members and quickly become a favorite winter comfort food.
Instant Pot Slow Cooker Chicken Parm Soup
Chicken Parm is one of my favorite Italian dishes to eat. It’s almost always come with spaghetti when I’ve ordered it at a restaurant, so I always associate spaghetti with it. I wanted to make a chicken parm soup. I really wanted the soup to have a slow cooked taste, so I made it in the Instant Pot using the slow cooker setting. Basically this means this recipe works in an Instant Pot, and should also work in just about any slow cooker. This flavorful soup will delight your family members and quickly become a favorite winter comfort food. Here’s how I make Instant Pot Slow Cooker Chicken Parm Soup.
FYI – This is a very thick soup. If you prefer your soup thinner or “brothier” then you’ll need to add another 2 cups of chicken broth in the beginning.

- Instant Pot electric pressure cooker (I used a 6 qt Instant Pot)
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- silicone cooking spoon
Pyrex 3-Piece Glass Measuring Cup SetCook’s Pro 3-Pc Adjust-A-Measure Set
iNeibo silicone spoon with stainless handle
Instant Pot Tempered Glass Lid
Instant Pot 6 qt Programmable Pressure Cooker
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 28 oz can tomato sauce
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes seasoned with basil, garlic and oregano
- 1 lb linguine
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup light cream
- olive oil
- shredded Italian blend cheese (Use as much as you like, I’m very liberal with it and used an entire 8 oz bag.)
Instructions
Place a thin layer of olive oil onto the bottom of the pot.
Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and then place the pieces into the pot.
Pour in the chicken broth, followed by the tomato sauce and then the diced tomatoes.
Add in the seasoning and then give the contents of the pot a quick stir.
Put the lid on the Instant Pot and then close the seal.
Set the Instant Pot to cook on slow cooker for 3.5 hours.
Break the pasta into bite sized pieces. I did this by holding small amounts of pasta in one hand and breaking them into 5 pieces with the other hand.
Add the broken pasta to the post and then set to cook for another 30 minutes.
Add the butter and the cream to the pot, then stir well until its completely melted and combined.
Serve immediately with shredded cheese on top and salt and pepper to taste.

Love slow cooker dishes as they enable the dishes to absorb the flavours and aromas well. We do lot of these but with veggies.
