Bread And Butter

I was in a restaurant recently with a large group of people. We had baskets of bread and rolls. I noticed that some of the people buttered their bread or roll as I do, all at once. I then noticed other people buttered enough for a bite, which after taking they buttered enough for the next bite. Where’s your bread buttered? Let’s hear it!

Yes that’s what they were doing. Why is that more well mannered then buttering your whole piece of bread?

I slather butter on the entire piece, roll, slice etc. I’ve never seen anyone butter a bite at a time!
