We do enjoy lasagna. I don’t always enjoy the work that goes into my typical lasagna – browning, layering, baking. It takes a while and makes the kitchen hot. Once summer rolls around I try not to heat up the kitchen any more than necessary. So, sometimes I won’t use the oven at all. I was in a lasagna mood but had no intention of baking. Instead I decided to use the ingredients to make an unlayered lasagna. The final dish was super tasty, and is one we have made several times since. Here’s how I made it.
Easy One-Pot Lasagna
- 1 lb ground beef
- 16 lasagna noodles, uncooked and broken
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes (I used the basil, garlic, oregano style)
- 12 oz water
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Set Ninja to stovetop high.
Place ground beef into Ninja along with onion and garlic powders and brown.
While the meat is browning, break the lasagna noodles into pieces. I broke each piece into 3-4 pieces.
Place the noodles on top of the beef.
Pour the crushed tomatoes and water over the noodles.
Set Ninja to stovetop medium and cook for about 15 minutes, until the noodles are tender.
Switch Ninja to stovetop low.
Add in shredded mozzarella and stir well.
Add in ricotta and stir well.
Serve with salt and pepper to taste.
