Candy Cane Moonshine is a flavorful drink with a color that really reflects the holiday season. This recipe needs to age a week before it’s ready to drink.

Candy Cane Moonshine Recipe

Candy canes are a classic holiday treat. They can be used for many purposes, including eating and decorating. Another thing you can do with them is break them down into a fun, seasonal holiday beverage. Candy Cane Moonshine is a flavorful, minty drink with a vivid red color that really easy reflects the holiday season. This moonshine is very easy to make, with this one being made with Everclear instead of the traditional whiskey that’s usually used. Once you have prepared the moonshine, it needs to age for a week before it’s ready to drink. It makes for a fun treat as well as an amusing gift for folks that enjoy so you’ll want to get started making it as soon as possible.  Here’s instructions on how to make it.

This recipe makes 4 jars.

  • strainer
  • large pitcher

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp simple syrup ( tbsp. in each jar )
  • 4 cups Everclear ( 1 cup in each jar )
  • 16 candy cane sticks ( 4 in each jar )
  • 4 tbsp candy cane syrup ( tbsp. in each jar )

Candy Cane Moonshine Recipe

Instructions

Fill the mason jar with candy canes.

Add the simple syrup and candy cane syrup into each jar.

Pour the Everclear into each jar until full.

Place the the moonshine in the refrigerator and let it sit for a week before usage.

Drain the liquid into a pitcher using a strainer.

You want to remove all the remains of the candy.

Pour the liquor back into your mason jars and shake to combine.

Enjoy!

    I have tried several flavors of moonshine but never candy cane! I would lovet o try this for the upcoming holiday season!! YUM!!

    Whew, Everclear?! I think I would make this, but opt for vodka and make a candy cane vodka instead. Everclear is strong! Of course, that’s the whole point of moonshine! 😉

    Great question. Some cake shops and online shops sell extract candy cane syrup, also alternatively named peppermint syrup.

    It does look fun and festive. I am just not a big enough fan of peppermint to make it work for me. not sure why. I always liked the flavored candy canes much more.
