Bacon Ham And Cheese Pasta Bake Recipe From Val's Kitchen

I first made this dish for my oldest. It combines several of his favorite things – mac and cheese, ham and bacon. It’s easy to make. The resulting dish is a yummy comfort food that will rapidly turn into a family favorite. Here’s how I make it.

Equipment Needed

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 8 oz shredded triple cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 + 1.5 cups shredded bacon
  • 1/2 lb deli ham sliced very thick

Preheat oven to 375.

Use a decent sized pot to boil the pasta, then boil and drain the pasta in a strainer.

Cut the ham into cubes.

Make a roux with the butter, flour, milk and 8 oz cheese. Do this by adding the ingredients to a sauce pan and cooking over a low to medium heat, stirring often until everything is blended.

Mix the pasta and the roux and stir well.

Spray a baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Add the bacon and ham to the pasta and mix thoroughly.

Put the pasta into casserole dish.

Sprinkle the remaining 4 oz cheese over the pasta.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Serve immediately.
