I had a loaf of Italian bread going stale. I wanted to make some warm dip. I decided that rather than throw the bread out, I’d make the dip in the bread. I am madly in love with this Warm Cheesy Bacon Ranch Dip and ate it for three days in a row until it was gone. Here’s how I made it.
Warm Cheesy Bacon Ranch Dip
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 16 oz onion dip
- 1 oz packet thick & creamy ranch dip/dressing mix
- 4 cup crumbled bacon
- 4 oz shredded cheddar jack cheese
Preheat oven to 425 f.
Scoop bread out of the loaf, being careful to leave sides and bottom intact.
Soften the cream cheese. (I used the microwave.)
Add the onion dip and stir well.
Add the ranch mix and stir well.
Add the bacon and stir well.
Add the shredded cheese and stir well.
Place the dip mixture into the bread.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top.
Cover in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Serve immediately. Not only does this dip go perfectly with your favorite chips, it also works with vegetables, breadsticks.
And, of most especial importance, it’s awesome on baked and mashed potatoes!
