I set out to make hubby a treat one evening recently. Cheesesteaks are a favorite around here. Real cheesesteaks are always a treat. I had some thin sliced beef that I’d used to stuff peppers in that he had loved. I decided to use more of that beef to make some spinach cheesesteaks. He loved these! The sandwich gets its flavor from the phenomenal taste that this thin beef has combined with the other fresh ingredients. While the meal uses nothing frozen, it’s still quick and easy to make. Here’s how I made it.
- 1x 12 oz package ButcherBox thin sliced beef
- 8 oz fresh spinach
- 2x 12 inch french breads
- 4-6 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350 f.
Place the beef into a large pan and saute until medium-rare to medium.
Place a little butter into a pan and cook the spinach until it shrinks down.
Slice the bread in half up on top. You could slice it on the side traditionally but then the food you’re about to put in won’t stay in. Remove some of the insides of the bread, taking care not to poke a hole through the bread.
Place the beef into the bread.
Place the spinach on top of the beef.
Sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese on top of the spinach.
Bake for 15 minutes.
