Food trucks have become such a big thing! You don’t have to look far to find one, they’re on many street corners and even on television! Fans of food related shows are probably familiar with the television show The Great Food Truck Race, which has announced that it is returning for a sixth season!
Once again this season the show will be hosted by Tyler Florence. For season six, the show will highlight the competitors cross-country journey on historic Route 66. The 2,500-mile long battle begins in Santa Monica, California and, after winding its way across the country, comes to its conclusion in Chicago, Illinois.
For season six there are seven competing teams competing for a $50,000 cash prize. The teams hail from Brooklyn NY, Orange Country CA, Raleigh NC, Los Angeles CA, Phoenix AZ, Dallas TX, and Provo, Utah. Each of the seven teams are known regionally for their culinary talents and selling skills, and is now seeking to take it to the next level. Not only must the teams create their own original dishes, but they also have to sell them. The pressure of having to create a certain dish and then sell it quickly should provide for some exciting moments, don’t you think?
“These skilled food truck entrepreneurs and our viewers are in for the road trip of their lives,” said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Food Network. “Their journey across historic Route 66 reflects food culture itself: fast, intense, creative and delicious.”
Season six of The Great Food Truck Race new season will premieres on Sunday, August 23rd at 9pm ET/PT.
