Sometimes folks want “food in a hurry”, or what some might call “fast food”. When I think of fast food I admit, I think of burgers and other fried things immediately. As it happens though, there are some non-fried foods that you can get in a hurry. Like rotisserie chicken. As you know, that is definitely not fried, which means it is much better for you then most fried foods.
The National Chicken Council estimates that 900 million rotisserie chickens are sold each year in the United States. What makes it so tasty? As it turns out, food scientists have discovered that initial exposure to high heat bursts open flavor molecules in food, delivering mouth-watering results.
Boston Market is actually pretty well known for their rotisserie chicken. It is all-made from fresh, never frozen, chicken. The all-natural chicken is made from chicken fed with quality grains, vitamins and minerals, and never additional hormones or steroids. It is prepared fresh hourly using a signature rotisserie cooking method that allows the skin to caramelize and the fat to drip away, leaving a lean, moist chicken.
Rotisserie chicken is something that I don’t make. We don’t have a rotisserie. But, hubby absolutely loves it. So when I want to bring a smile to hubby’s face, I pick up a rotisserie chicken from Boston Market. The first thing you see when you go into the Boston Market location in my town is the wall of rotisserie ovens with chickens in various stages of cooking.
Now the great thing about Boston Market’s rotisserie chicken is that you can eat it there or bring it home. I often get a family meal with a couple of sides and bring it home. Hubby loves how fresh it tastes.
You have to admit, opening up a rotisserie chicken and plating it is much simpler then cooking one for hours. I personally appreciate the ease and convenience of Boston Market, and their food always tastes fresh.
Another great thing about rotisserie chicken is that you can do a lot with it. If you bring home a family meal and have leftovers, which almost never happens at my house, you can shred it and use it in lots of different recipes. Speaking of uses for rotisserie chicken. Boston Market offers more than 150 meals with 550 calories of less. A good number of them include rotisserie chicken. My favorite is the Rotisserie Chicken Market Bowl, shown above. I love this meal. It features the tender, moist and flavorful rotisserie chicken and two sides. My favorite way to have this bowl is with the sweet corn and mashed potatoes, and then have gravy on top. It is soooo good!
What sides do you think go well with rotisserie chicken?
