The other night I found myself looking to make a quick dinner. I knew I could get some pasta together pretty quickly but wanted something other then red sauce or butter. In looking in the fridge I saw I had ranch dressing, which I thought would be pretty interesting on pasta. I also had cheese (I always have cheese) and some ham and thought it might be tasty to combine them all with the pasta. Sort of like a ham and cheese sandwich but with pasta and not bread. The dish took 15 minutes to make, basically just the time it takes to boil the pasta. The end result was very simple and very tasty. I will be making it again, but next time I do I’ll be adding some chopped grape tomatoes, and possibly some shredded bacon. Here’s how I made it.
Ranch Ham And Cheese Fettuccine
- 1 lb fettuccine
- 4-6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 6-8 slices of ham (sliced ham that you get at the deli)
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Boil the pasta according to instructions.
While pasta is cooking cut the ham into strips or pieces.
Drain pasta and return to pot or place in large bowl.
Add the ranch dressing and the seasonings and stir well.
Add the ham and the cheese and stir well.
