Did you know that April 26 is National Pretzel Day? Yep! Pretzels are a favorite snack around here, we have a jar full almost all of the time. People love them, which is why you see bowls of them at parties. I’m sure you’ve been to, or hosted, a party with a big bowl of pretzels. Tasty, but a little blah blah boring, don’t you think?
It’s really not surprising. Pretzels are not a new thing. Although the exact origin of the pretzel is unknown, the Rold Gold brand has been around since 1917, making delicious pretzels for consumers for decades. Just in time for National Pretzel Day on April 26th, Rold Gold has introduced NEW Rold Gold Pretzel Thins in three delicious flavors – Original, Garlic Parmesan and Three Cheese.
These Pretzel Thins are delicious all by themselves. But, they also present an avenue to serve pretzels in a new and far more interesting way – as an appetizer. Frito-Lay Executive Chef Jody Denton took some time to put together a short video containing some pretzel-inspired recipes just for From Val’s Kitchen readers. Whether you’re craving something sweet and salty or something savory, he’s got something for you. Check it out.
Could you go for a pretzel now? How about a giveaway? Just in time for National Pretzel Day, the folks at Rold Gold have put together a fun giveaway just for you!
One winner will receive a “Break Happy” kit that includes (6) bags of Pretzel Thins, a $25 iTunes gift card, jasmine-scented soy candle and a “break happy” inspirational poster.
What’s your favorite way to eat pretzels? I’d really like to know, please leave a comment!
