I have to be perfectly honest, I’ve avoided eating in Times Square as much as possible. Most restaurants in the area serve pretty awful food at pretty awful prices, which is why I’m so glad that Olive Garden has a location there. With great prices, and even better service Olive Garden is one of the few establishments in Times Square that I’m happy to eat at. I recently joined a group of influencers as well as Olive Garden Executive Chef Jim Nuetzi to chat about and taste Olive Garden’s inspired additions to their menu!
We started with Olive Garden’s New Small Dishes, including Polenta Shrimp alla Greca – inspired by Southern Italy this little dish includes sautéed shrimp served on polenta and topped with a blend of olives, capers and tomato sauce.
We also had a taste of their Smashed Chicken Meatball Sandwich, it was insanely good and is one of a few options on their Sandwich & Flatbread menu. It consists of smashed chicken meatballs, roasted bell peppers, and mozzarella on a focaccia bun – yum!
Another favorite is their new Large Paccheri and the Tri-Colored Vegetable Penne – I’m a lover of all pastas, and these two were especially enjoyable! The Paccheri was creamy and delicious, and the Tri-Colored Vegetable Penne was flavorful (and the pasta was perfectly al-dente to boot!) and filling. We also tasted their new Antipasti Salad – which was simple but tasty, very Italian.
Olive Garden has revolutionized their menu with not only all the amazing new menu options above but also with lunch experience that is designed to make sure that you get your food to you faster. They’ve also incorporated new Tuscan Trio Combinations which enhance “the popular soup, salad and breadsticks lunch by offering guests an additional pasta side, Small Plate or new salad topping.” As if that wasn’t enough to get excited about, they’re also giving guests more handheld options with sandwich and flatbread combinations served with unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks.
I know I’ll be heading back to Olive Garden very soon!
