ABOUT CREATIVE COOKING FOR ONE OR TWO
Just because many of us live the life of singles or doubles doesn’t mean we should deny ourselves one of life’s finer pleasures: delicious, home-cooked meals! Move over, fast food . . . and watch out, takeout! Creative Cooking for One or Two has arrived. With recipes for soups, salads, entrées, baked goods, and desserts, there’s something in here for everyone (or two) looking to prepare meals that are tasty, satisfying, and won’t leave you with excessive leftovers. College students will appreciate that virtually every recipe in the book can be prepared using either a microwave or toaster oven or a hot plate. Couples learning to cook together will love the shopping tips, suggestions for appropriate cooking utensils, and easy-to-follow instructions. Health-conscious cooks are in luck, as each recipe includes an approximate calorie count.
Marie W. Lawrence has had a passion for cooking, baking, gardening, and writing for as long as she can remember. She is a third generation Vermonter, an elementary school teacher, a mother, and a grandmother. She lives with her husband in Brattleboro, Vermont.
- Bountiful Breakfasts, Brunches, and Baked goods
- Satisfying Soups, Salads and Sandwiches
- Enticing Entrees
- Deletable Desserts
- Festive Feasts
The recipes in this cookbook are all easy to understand. Each one includes a level of difficulty, from easy to moderate to complex. The ingredients are all ones you’ll find in your kitchen or pantry, or in your local grocery store. It’s great that the recipes include the caloric content. There are some really great photos scattered throughout this book. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough of them for me, I find photos helpful in two ways – for helping me decide what to make, and for letting me know what I’ve made looks like what it’s supposed to. Some of the recipes that sound interesting or that I think might be yummy from the name include Boston Cream Pie, Solitary Chocolate Cupcake, Strawberry Bread and Butter Pudding, Corn and Tomato Bisque, Cheddar Apple Chowder, Fried Rice Breakfast Patties, and Bacon Broccoli and tomato Mini Quiches. This cookbook would be great for college students, singles and couples, and people who enjoy making the most of leftovers or live in a house full of people with busy lifestyles where people fend for themselves often.
Be sure to check out the recipe for Ham, Cheese, and Spinach Mini Quiches, courtesy of Creative Cooking For One Or Two.
ONE winner will receive their own copy of Creative Cooking For One Or Two.
