I knew that I wanted to make a pie but wanted to do something a little different for us. We like scalloped potatoes and I had a box of those. I decided to combine that with some ready to go chicken that I had to use before its best by date passed. I thought it would need a vegetable so I grabbed a can. The result was valmg’s Cheesy Chicken And Scalloped Potato Pie Recipe.
- 2 pie crusts
- 1 box Velveeta Cheesy Bacon Scalloped Potatoes
- 1x 14.5 oz can green beans, drained
- 2x 8 oz Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Prepare scalloped potatoes according to package instructions. I made mine on the stovetop.
While potatoes are cooking, place one pie crust into 9in pie plate. I spray the pie plate with nonstick cooking spray.
When the scalloped potatoes are finished cooking, add the green beans and stir.
Add the onion powder and garlic powder and stir well.
Place contents of bowl into the bottom pie crust.
Place second crust on top of pie. Pinch the sides to close, and trim edges.
Brush butter on pie crust.
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until crust is browning.
Remove from oven.
Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
This pie is very heavy and wet. The downside is that it doesn’t always slice nicely. The upside is that it tastes yummy.
