Rice is a staple here in our home. Hubby and the little one could eat rice almost every day. I would say that we eat it at least 2 to 3 times a week, if not more. I recently was able to try out the new Success Boil-in-Bag Thai Jasmine rice. Other varieties include whole grain brown rice, white rice ,and basmati rice. I often find myself using boil-in-bag rice. It is quick, simple,mess free, and foolproof. It cooks up in about 10 minutes. Success rice has a guarantee on their website. Christmas is just around the corner. We all know how crazy this time of year can be. As I try to finish my holiday shopping I found myself in a pinch this weekend. I had not planned out dinner, and was in a hurry to get back out to the stores. I came up with a quick and simple dinner. My 2 year old loved it, he even asked for seconds.
What you’ll need :
- 2 bags boil-in-bag Jasmine rice
- 1 rope of smoked sausage
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
Prepare your rice according to package instructions. I cooked my rice about 8 minutes because I did not want it to get too mushy.
While waiting for my rice to cook I cut up the smoked sausage.
Spray your pan with a little cooking spray and cook sausage through.
Once rice is done, remove from water and add that to your sausage.
In my pantry I had diced tomatoes with green peppers and onions.
You can use whatever variety you like or even a can of rotel. I added 1 can of the diced tomatoes undrained to my sausage and rice.
Stir and cook through.
That’s all, you’re ready to serve.
