I love the taste of slow cooker meals. The Crock-Pot is the perfect way to make a hot and tasty meal without heating up the kitchen or doing tons of work. Recently I was given the opportunity to try new Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes. With cold weather having already arrived, I can’t think of a better time to put these to use.
ABOUT CROCK POT SEASONING MIXES
Crock-Pot seasoning mixes are expertly blended for optimum performance in the temperature and moisture ranges of slow cookers.
There are three varieties of Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes – BBQ Pulled Pork, Hearty Beef Stew, and Savory Pot Roast. I received samples of all three. I decided to start with the Savory Pot Roast. One packet makes a family sized meal.
The mixes are super easy to use. All you need to do is put the meat, vegetables, seasoning packet and a cup of water into the Crock-Pot. I followed the instruction on the packet, and used a 3 pound bottom round beef roast.
Then you just put a lid on the Crock-Pot and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours. Partway through the cooking cycle you could really smell the roast and it smelled really good. The finished roast was tender and tasty. The gravy was nice and thick, like homemade. I liked that there was a good amount of gravy, plenty to cover the potatoes and meat, and even some left after that if you wanted to use it for dipping bread in.
This was perfect on a day like yesterday, where we were all home but doing many different things in order to get ready for today. We had a hot, home-cooked meal without standing over the stove or stirring or anything. I have also tried the Savory Beef Stew, which was similar to the Pot Roast but somewhat “saucier” and with a different flavor. I’ll be trying the BBQ Pulled Pork over the holiday vacation. I’ve been wanting to try making Pulled Pork myself but friends have told me it can be a lot of work. I’m excited to try the Crock-Pot Seasoning mix because using it should make it much simpler.
The Crock-Pot Seasoning site has additional Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes recipes you can make using these mixes.
