As mentioned on my blog Mom Knows It All, after getting through Hurricane Sandy I’ve decided that I want to get my house in order. I want to get things more organized. There’s a reason I refer to my house as The Burrow. If you’ve seen the Harry Potter movies, you know what The Burrow is. It’s the house that the Weasley family lives in. It’s a house filled with clutter and love. Our kitchen is definitely an area that could use some work. The fridge isn’t a concern, we lost everything in the fridge after Hurricane Sandy hit. Hubby cleaned it out the day after we returned while it was empty. Yesterday I reorganized and cleaned the counter. The next task is probably going to be going through our collection of cups and mugs, which is rather large. The picture above is a portion of one cabinet, which contains 10 cups – a set of 6 and a set of 4, they match our dishes. Down on the counter there is a shelf with 18 mugs, many of which were gifts including some personalized coffee mugs. In the next cabinet over there are about 8 travel mugs. In the past few months I have gotten rid of about a dozen other mugs. I don’t have counter space for a mug tree. I don’t have wall space for hooks either. I know I have to thin out the collection to make more room, but I don’t even know where to begin since I like them all. How do you organize and store your coffee cups?
I'm a Jersey girl, I was born and raised here and have lived here for almost my entire life. I'm a mom of 2 boys – TJ, a 23 year old, and CJ, an 20 year old with Down Syndrome. I am the oldest of four children. I am also a social media enthusiast, cat person, and Down syndrome advocate. I love coffee, milkshakes, pasta and cheesecake. My favorite dessert is cheesecake. I love rock music, tech, travel and food. And cheesecake. I HATE the misuse of the word retarded. I take it personally and find it very offensive. Did I mention that I love cheesecake?
