Another kitchen electric that a lot of kitchens have is a food processor. Interestingly enough, this is one must have that I don’t have. But I want one. Food processors are really powerful and versatile appliances.
When I first heard about food processors I heard about them being used to make baby food. At the time I didn’t think they had many other uses. Now that I’ve read more about them and heard from people that have them I know that they can do many things. What I’d want it most for is the cutting abilities – slicing, chopping, shredding, grating and chopping. I stink at all of those things. The machines can also be used to mix things together. I had no idea until recently that some food processors can even make bread dough.
If you think about it food processors are like software that allows us to send large files in small packages with little effort. In the same way that it’s easier to share files that are smaller, it’s easier to work with some foods when they’re not whole. Plus, some recipes call for food to be in a different form other than whole, of course.
I think that a food processor would bean invaluable tool in my kitchen, or any kitchen. I’d love to know if you have a food processor, and what your favorite things are to use it for or what your favorite features are. In the meantime, I’ll be browsing to find the model I want and saving my pennies.
