As mentioned, I’m in BJ’s once each week or so. Why? Number one reason is because they have a deli with great pricing. It’s also because they carry a number of food and grocery items that we regularly buy at prices that are better then the grocery store. Plus they let you use manufacturer’s coupons, as well as their own store coupons. I spend anywhere from $25 to $100, depending on what I’m buying and if I’m stocking the freezer. Generally it’s a good bet that I don’t spend under $50. So let’s say I spend $50 per week at BJ’s. $50 times 45 weeks (let’s say I took a couple of weeks off) comes to $2250. So that’s an estimated $2250 spent in one year. With a BJ’s Rewards membership I’d get back $45. But et’s not forget that BJ’s carries way more than just food. They have a tire center, where I purchased two tires this year. They have an optical center, where my Mom bought me glasses a while back. They also carry paper goods, cleaning products, small appliances, computers, jewelry, clothes, electronics, pet products, books, games, movies and much more. So add in what I spend on the non-food items and I’ve spent even more at BJ’s, increasing the amount of money I get back. I look at it this way. I can guarantee that I spend enough to cover the cost of the upgrade. Any money I get back after that is found money, making having a BJ’s Rewards membersip a win-win situation.
I received a complimentary upgrade to the BJ’s Rewards membership for a period of one year.
