Another of my favorite appliances is my electric grill. It’s the perfect thing for cooking food in a hurry. Also, I have a bit of a fear of grills so by using one of these I can grill without grilling.
When I bought my first electric grill years ago I bought on price alone, not thinking I’d use it as much as I do. The model I started with was on the smaller side – it could only do two hamburgers at a time. The model I have now is much larger and can cook six hamburgers at a time.
The great thing about my grill, and a number of the ones out there I think, is that the fat moves away from the meat. On mine the fat drips down into channels in the grill and moves down to a little drawer that catches it.
There are a lot of different models on the market, they start at about $20 and increase in price depending on the size and features. Some of the new models on the market have auto-sense features to tell you when your meat is cooked. (I envision the auto-sense feature as a sort of school bus gps tracking or student tracking software, for meat – it finds the right temperature and let you know it.) Other models have a timer, something I wish mine had.
Do you have an electronic grill? Why do you like or dislike it? Do you cook with it often?
