There are some things I just don’t like to cook because it seems like I always get hurt while making them. I have gotten burnt from splatter while frying more times than I care to remember, which is why I won’t cook bacon anymore. (I make RB do it.) I had tried tongs but they were cheap and didn’t grab well. Most of the time I have ended up using a giant fork, which doesn’t always make things easy. Recently I received the opportunity to try iSi Pro Tongs and it’s changed my outlook completely.
About iSi Pro Tongs – In the creation of Pro Tongs, iSi took special care to ensure that this tool is uniquely efficient for preparing, cooking, grilling, serving, and handling ALL foods properly. Unlike other tongs, stainless steel Pro Tongs feature a work area with three different multifunctional edges – it’s like three tongs in one! These unique tongs also open up into two different positions – a narrow position for comfortable handling of smaller foods and a wide position to handle large quantities or bigger food items. As the first NSF® certified locking tongs, Pro Tongs completely and quickly disassemble for thorough cleaning in the dishwasher, forever eliminating unseen food traps!
iSi Pro Tongs aren’t like the other tongs that I’ve tried. Have you ever picked up a pair of tongs that felt flimsy and wouldn’t grab anything? I have. Pro Tongs feel solid and sturdy without being overly heavy. They are dishwasher safe and made of 18/10 stainless steel to help prevent rusting but that isn’t what makes them cool. What makes them cool is the hinged, locking design. They can be unlocked and put into the dishwasher for cleaning of all surfaces, eliminating hidden germs. When clean you can lock them into the closed position to hang or store in a drawer. While open the tongs can be adjusted to both narrow and wide positions, accommodating different sized foods and portions. The other thing I really like is the three way multifunctional edges – a smooth scalloped side for delicate foods, straight side for deboning, and a jagged side for items that are difficult to pick up. I was very impressed with the quality of Pro Tongs. I received 16” Pro Tongs to try. I have found myself cooking foods that I usually have RB do more in the weeks that I have had them and haven’t gotten splattered once.
iSi Pro Tongs are available in three different sizes, 9”, 12”, and 16” and have a suggested retail price of $20, $25, and $30, respectively. They are available for purchase online.
