Menu planning is a great way to stay within your budget and keep control of what your spending on groceries. By menu planning you’re always sure to have the ingredients you need to make the meal you want. I try to avoid any additional trips to the grocery store because they really add up. You go in for one thing and come out with more. You’re also spending more on gas and using up more of your own valuable time. I lay out our menu for the upcoming week while I’m going through the weekly circular. I plan based on the sales and any coupons I have.
After grocery shopping I put meats in the freezer. I usually do not decide what meal will be served on what day. I prefer to decide what we’re going to have each morning and take the meat out to defrost at that time. Whenever possible I’ll cook two meals at once, to save myself some time.
