We recently took our annual family camping trip in upstate New York. When we take a long drive like that I often pack food for the trip. Some parents go through the drive thru. That’s not always an option when you have a child with Celiac Disease. So I try to pack things that travel well. Also not always an option.
GoGo Squeez is portable applesauce made by the French company Materne. That is to say, it is applesauce in a resealable and portable pouch that requires no refrigeration. GoGo squeeZ contains 100% fruit and no added sugars, additives or preservatives. It’s also gluten-free, dairy-free and kosher-certified. One pouch is a full serving of fruit. A variety of flavors is available including applesauce, apple peach, apple banana, apple strawberry and apple cinnamon.
I received samples of several flavors including plain, peach, banana, strawberry and cinnamon. It tastes just like any other applesauce, the only difference is that it’s in a pouch that you drink from. I liked the taste but admittedly found the sensation of drinking applesauce a little strange. CJ, on the other hand, had no issues whatsoever. He drank them right up just as quickly as he eats applesauce at home. I’m glad that he can eat a healthy, gluten-free snack if he needs one while we’re traveling or on the go.
