The folks at Edible Gifts Plus must have known how much fun I’ve been having trying new foods when they asked me if I’d be willing to review one of their newest creations, Choc Stix. Choc Stix are chocolate covered chow mein noodles. The noodles are dipped in your choice of either milk or white Belgian chocolate and come packaged inside a clear plastic Chinese takeout container.
I received a carton of the white chocolate Choc Stix. The container was full of chocolatey noodles. Surprisingly, they really didn’t taste like chow mein noodles. And while you could taste the chocolate they didn’t taste like a chocolate bar. It’s a unique combination that’s hard to describe, probably sort of like a thin cookie. The Choc Stix we received seemed to have sweat or melted a little in shipping, causing them to be a little soggy. I put them into the refrigerator for a short while to firm them up a bit. Then we tried them again and they tasted much better. They paired well with cold milk for me and TJ and hot tea for RB. I think a vanilla cinnamon flavor would be quite tasty. Choc Stix were featured this week as a Snack Of the Day on the Rachel Ray show.
