I have heard about people deep frying turkeys for years. An old client of mine was the first person to tell me about it. He lived in Louisiana and he told me deep frying was the only way to cook a turkey. He used to inject spices under the skin and he said the turkey would be moist and really tasty every time. The first time I heard about it I thought it sounded strange. I couldn’t even figure out how you’d fit a big bird into a deep fryer. Since then I have learned that there are special products made just for this. I’ve seen different kinds, some use oil and some don’t. I’m thinking the oilless turkey fryer would be the one I’d buy because it’s probably healthier and less messy. I always buy a big bird on Thanksgiving. This fryer cooks a 12 pound turkey in under two hours – what a time saver for Thanksgiving! And no basting too! Have you ever had deep fried turkey? How did you like it?
