Strawberry Cheesecake Dip. Doesn’t that sound good? Because it is considered bad form to just stick your finger into a bowl of dip, you need something to dip into the dip. Enter Loacker.
Who is Loacker?
Since 1925, the name Loacker has stood for pure and wholesome natural goodness, the highest quality and love for nature – combined in delicious wafer and chocolate specialties. Over the past 90 years, the name has become an internationally known brand which is popular in more than 100 countries – and which has always gone unwaveringly its own way. What has helped with this, and still does, is their status as a family business. They can decide each step themselves and have ensured the highest quality for generations. Their products are made in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the pristine environment of the Dolomites and prepared according to an old family tradition.
What does Loacker make?
Loacker makes all sorts of yummy treats. You may have seen some of their wafers cookies in a store near you or in your travels. There are a number of different types of wafer cookies including the Classic, and Quadratini styles.
Quadratini is a cube shaped wafer cookie with five wafers and four layers of filling. Current varieties include:
- Dark Chocolate
- Black Currant
- Raspberry Yoghurt
- Cocoa & Milk
Classic wafers are the original wafer with creamy filling. Current varieties include:
- Cocoa & Milk
While in Chicago I had the opportunitu to meet some of the folks with Loacker and try a good number of their products. The Classic Wafers andthe Chocolate Wafers were my favorites of all of the wafers. The Loacker chocolates I tasted were fantastic, you could taste the quality in every bite of the smooth, rich chocolate. I like knowing that Loacker is a family company. I also like knowing that Loacker works hard to use quality ingredients with no artificial coloring, hydrogenated fats or preservatives.
Once home I thought it would be fun to try some of the wafers with a dip. I decided to make a Strawberry Cheesecake Dip. The dip issuper easy to make. It pairs beautifully with both the Milk Wafers and the Lemon Wafers. Here’s how I made it.
Strawberry Cheesecake Dip
- large mixing bowl
- medium mixing bowl
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- cutting board
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 package Loacker Milk or Lemon Wafers
Place the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar into the large mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture is nice and smooth.
Place the whipping cream, vanilla and 3 tbsp of sugar into the medium mixing bowl. Whisk for about 4-5 minutes until whipped cream has formed.
Add the contents of the whipped cream bowl to the cream cheese bowl. Combine thoroughly.
Mince the strawberries. I cut each strawberry in half, then quartered the halves and minced those.
Add the strawberries to the large mixing bowl and stir.
Refrigerate the bowl of dip for 60 – 90 minutes.
Serve with Loacker Milk or Lemon Wafers.
