Pirates have the power! Whether you appreciate a really mean pirate or you’re a fan of cute animated pirates, you have to admit that pirates have power. There have been a number of successful movies, most notably of late (for me) being The Pirates Of The Caribbean. The latest ship in that movie franchise launches later this week, on May 26. No matter which type of pirate you prefer, bad or good, your family will be sure to enjoy these chocolatey rice krispies treats assembled using a pirate theme. They are so fun! Here’s instructions on how to make them.

Ingredients
Rice Krispies Treats Ingredients
- 6 cups Cocoa Krispies cereal
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
Frosting Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted sweet cream butter
- 2 1/2 cups powder sugar
- 4 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-2 drops of green food coloring
Candy Ingredients
- 1 bag of edible grass
- 1 small bag of edible pearls
- 1 small bag of gold rock gum
- 1/2 pound of chocolate rock candy
- 2-4 sticks of clear rock candy
Instructions
Rice Krispies Treats Instructions
Spray the cupcake pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
Place the butter into a sauce pan and melt on medium heat.
Pour the mini marshmallows in and mix until melted.
Pour the cereal in and mix until combined.
Once mixed, scoop the rice krispies mix into the wells of the cupcake pan, pressing down on the top.
Set aside to cool.
Frosting Instructions
Place all ingredients except the food coloring into a stand mixer and combine.
If the frosting is still soft and doesn’t create stiff peaks, add in 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.
Add the food coloring.
Scoop the frosting into the piping bag.
Decoration Instructions
Pipe the top of the rice krispies with the frosting to make “leaf” effects.
Cut about 4-6 inches of the edible grass and then place it into the frosting.
Add the pirate flag.
Using the rock candy, gold gum and pearls, decorate as you like.
Serve and enjoy!

This recipe and the movie Pirates of the Caribbean is enough to make me happy! I love these treats because they are made of rice krispies (my favorite cereal). Thanks for sharing. I am making this the soonest.
