Unwrap the Rice Krispies Treats and set aside.

Add water into the bottom pot and place on the stove on medium to high heat.

Once the water starts simmering add the second pot on top and add the blue candy melts into the top pot and randomly stir the candy melts until they are completely melted.

Dip half of the rice krispy treat into the the blue candy melt and then place onto the parchment paper.

Once all of the rice krispy treats have been half dipped, place into the fridge for 10 minutes to harden.

While the treats are in the fridge, clean the pot with the blue candy melt so that you get ready to melt the yellow candy melt

Once the yellow candy melt has been melted, pull out the treats.

Dip the top half of the treat into the yellow candy melt.

Place onto the parchment paper

While the yellow is still wet, place on the edible eyes

Using the grey icing, pipe a ‘frame’ around the eyes

Using the black icing, pipe on the side frames

Add smiles and hair using the black icing.

Once your minions have been created, set aside to fully dry for 30 minutes.

  1. A great idea and one to get the children involved in cooking. I dont know if I would try because of the candy melts inside. I ate a lot of bad stuff when I was a child (thanks mum) and have very bad British teeth 🙁

  2. Minions are huge in my house. I will have to get the ingredients I need to make these on the weekend. I hope mine turn out as cute as yours.

  3. This is adorable! I love the rice krispies. My brother is having a Minion birthday party – so I’ll highlight this in menu.

  4. Ohhh just in time for the Minions movie. These are so cute! How I wish I can do this too. My nephews will definitely like this.

  5. Rice Crispy treats are a great treat for the kids for any occasion. I so adore the Minions and so does my niece’s kids. We are going to have to make these for sure. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  6. I am definitely going to make these this summer with my kids! We were just in the theater seeing a movie and aw the trailer for the new Despicable Me movie, and my kids got so excited for it!

  7. So cute! I love this idea. These rice krispies minion treats would be a nice surprise to give my grandkids after they are done playing outdoors. I can just imagine their smiles.
