valmg’s Sloppy Crockpot Potatoes Recipe
By valmg on Jan 29, 2012 with Comments 2
This past week I decided I wanted to make something different in the crockpot. Two people mentioned two different ideas, which together gave me an idea for this dish – Sloppy Crockpot Potatoes.
INGREDIENTS
- 1x large (7.7 oz) box Betty Crocker Au Gratin Potatoes
- 2x 15 oz cans Sloppy Joe Sauce (I used Dei Fratelli)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups water
DIRECTIONS
Brown ground beef. Or if you brown and then freeze ground beef, get a pound of that out.
While beef is browning, pour contents of the potatoes pouch into bottom of crockpot.

In a bowl, mix contents of sloppy joes sauce, the cheese powder from the potatoes and the water.

Put ground beef on top of potatoes.

Pour liquid mixture over top of meat and potatoes.

Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.
Serve.

???????????????????????????
How did it turn out…taste?
You say to pour the liquid(sauce, cheese and water) over the meat and potatoes, but I see red sauce under the meat.
Do I put some under and the rest on top?
I luv crockpot recipes…thanks for sharing!
Uncle Luc would term this Belgium style–me a casserole. Personally I perfer my ingredients separate to show their own individual tastes.
