valmg’s Ham Cheese And Asparagus Stromboli Recipe
By valmg on Oct 16, 2012 with Comments 1
I don’t like asparagus but hubby does. I wanted to make him a little something for when he got home from work tonight. We have a lot of sliced ham left over from this past weekend’s walk, so I wanted to use that. I decided to combine it with cheese and asparagus and make a stromboli. He said it was delicious and would definitely eat it again.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package pizza dough
- 12 slices ham (about 1/2 lb)
- 4 oz shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 8 oz asparagus spears, chopped
- yellow mustard (about 2 tbsp)
- garlic powder
- 1 tbsp soft butter or margarine spread
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 425.
Stretch out the pizza dough into a rectangle on a greased baking sheet.
Place a thin layer of mustard on the dough.

Lay the slices of ham out of the dough.

Sprinkle the cheese on top of the ham slices.

Place the chopped asparagus on top of the cheese, in the center.

Take the ends and fold the dough in half horizontally.
Close the two open ends by making a small fold and pinching.
Brush butter on the outside of dough.

Sprinkle garlic powder on the dough.
Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown.

Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

You make making a stromboli look so easy. Pass on the asparagus though.
