REVIEW – Yosicle Yogurt Popsicles
By valmg on Aug 10, 2012 with Comments 4
We love frozen treats in the summer. And sometimes during the winter. Popsicle is a family favorite, and recently something new has been added to the family – Yosicle.
ABOUT POPSICLE
The Popsicle® brand is an American classic, with more than 30 creative variations of the original Popsicle® product. And believe it or not, it all started with an accident!
In 1905, 11-year-old Frank Epperson left a mixture of powdered soda, water, and a stirring stick in a cup on his porch. It was a cold night, and Epperson awoke the next morning to find a frozen pop. He called it the “Epsicle.”
It was a hit with his friends at school, and later with his own kids. They constantly called for “Pop’s ‘sicle.” So in 1923, Epperson changed the name and applied for a patent. A couple of years later, Epperson sold the rights to the brand name Popsicle® to the Joe Lowe Company in New York. The rest is history!
MY THOUGHTS
There are several new Yosicle products available.
- Yosicle™ Torpedo!™ pops feature three flavors in one low-fat, creamy pop: Purple Berry, Watermelon and Vanilla.
- Yosicle™ Layerz!™ pops feature two flavors per low-fat pop and are made with flavored ice on the top and creamy deliciousness on the bottom. They are available in two flavors: Cotton Candy & Vanilla and Orange & Vanilla.
- Yosicle™ Duos!™ pops feature creamy deliciousness on the inside with flavored ice on the outside. These lowfat pops have two flavors on each stick and are available in two variety boxes: Watermelon-Vanilla and Cotton Candy-Vanilla or Purple Berry-Vanilla and Cherry-Vanilla.

I decided to try the Yosicle Duos. I love Popsicles, especially on a really hot day. I also love yogurt. The different flavors and textures of the Popsicle and the yogurt go together really well, better than I expected them to. I love that Yosicle Duos are low in fat and are a good source of calcium.

Boxes of Yosicle™ pops and Popsicle® ice pops are available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99.
The Popsicle® Brand is also partnering with SOUR PATCH KIDS™1 to introduce another bold and fruity candy flavor to stores. The new Popsicle® SOUR PATCH KIDS™ ice pops will replicate the unique SOUR THEN SWEET™ taste combination for which SOUR PATCH KIDS™ is known. Each ice pop has a sour ice shell and a sweet ice center, and is available in three delicious flavors including Lime, Raspberry and Orange.
