REVIEW – How Schwan’s Home Delivery And 60 Burger Recipes Can Help You Make A Great Burger Bar

Who loves yummy burgers? We do! But there are many times that we’re in a hurry, or just not in the mood to make the burgers from scratch. Which is why we turn to frozen burgers. Now not all frozen burgers are created equal. We’ve tried a lot, and some of them are awful. One of our favorites to date are from Schwan’s. Not familiar with Schwan’s?

MY THOUGHTS

Schwan’s has just about everything you’ll need to have a great cookout or make your own burger bar. Everything is ready to cook and easy to cook. For example. I received Schwan’s Quarter Pound Beef Burgers, Fully Cooked Bacon Slices, and Asparagus Spears.

I liked that the burgers were wrapped two to a package. No danger of freezer burn, accidentally ripped bags or bags accidentally left open.

The burgers cooked up quickly and evenly. I found them to taste fresh and juicy while not exceptionally greasy.

The bacon is fully cooked and comes in a resealable bag. To cook you place between 4 and 6 onto a paper towel and heat for 45 – 60 seconds in the microwave. The bacon was much better than I expected, actually quite fantastic! The bacon comes out ready to eat, and not nearly as greasy as I would have thought. We love bacon here but we all dislike cooking it. Bacon is a pain in the butt to cook and so I generally avoid cooking it, which also means we’re not eating it as often as we’d like. Nothing to avoid with this bacon! We liked that the bacon was quick and super easy to make, and that the strips were substantial enough that they didn’t fall apart like some do.

I heated the bacon just before the burgers were finished cooking. Our bacon cheeseburgers were delicious! Here’s what one looked like all purty, before being squished between two buns.

And finally, the asparagus spears. I don’t like asparagus so I couldn’t tell you anything about this. I dislike it so much that I won’t even buy it. Hubby, on the other hand, likes asparagus. He made the asparagus one night while I was out at a meeting. He made them with some cheese and a little bit of butter. He told me they were absolutely delicious, and that he liked that the stalks were such a nice size. He did not stop gobbling them up long enough to take a picture, unfortunately. We were very pleased with the products we tried from Schwan’s. Not only do they carry the foods you need to make a great burger bar, they’ve got a list of 60 Burger Topper Ideas, which is enough to keep you in a variety of burgers for a pretty long time. There’s something on there for everyone, from Buffalo Bill (provolone cheese, crumbled blue cheese, onions rings and smother with a dressing of hot buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing with diced celery for crunch) to Veggie (sliced onions, avocado, tomato, seasoned cream cheese, placed on bed of spinach and cucumber) and 58 others in between.
