ABOUT GRACE’S SWEET LIFE
Grace’s Sweet Life Brings the Sweet Side of Italy to Your Kitchen
The secrets to Italy’s most delicious, homemade Italian desserts are revealed!
Introducing Grace’s Sweet Life, your go-to special occasion cookbook featuring a wide range of mouth-watering treats such as Tiramisu, Sicilian Cannoli, Panna Cotta with Raspberry Jelly, and Chocolate Éclairs with Pastry Cream.
“With the recipes in this book, I pass on those same traditions and virtues I gained from growing up surrounded by the love, gen- erosity, and bountiful spirit of an Italian family kitchen,” author Grace Massa Langlois explains.
With more than 50 stunning color photos and chapters for Cakes and Cheesecakes, Pies and Tarts, and Creams, Custards, Mousses, and Soufflés, it’ll be hard to decide what sweet treat you should make for your celebration, whether it is a graduation, birth- day, or holiday.
These desserts will make you entri come amici, vada come famiglia (enter as friends, leave as family), as Grace loves to say. Buon appetito!
About the author
Grace Massa Langliss was born in Belgium to Italian parents. She grew up in London, ontario, where she now lives with her two children. In april 2010, she launched her website, GracesSweetLife.com, where she shares recipes, stories about her Italian heritage, and the joy of growing up in a large, close- knit family. Her daughter photographs all the desserts, while her son holds the enviable position of being the official taste-tester.
I received a copy of Grace’s Sweet Life. Chapters include:
Cakes and Cheesecakes
Cookies and Confestions
Pies and Tarts
Pastries and Fried Desserts
Creams, Custards, Mousses , and Souffles
Frozen and Fruit Desserts.
This cookbook contains Italian dessert recipes. Recipes are all extremely well written, detailed and easy to understand. I’m not kidding, the instructions are so detailed. I’m sure you’ve encountered a recipe that was vague, or as clear as mud, over the years – there are none of those in here. And, a recipe from the Basics chapter that you learn early on can be used later in a recipe as an ingredient. Aside from the Basics chapter, all of the recipes include at least one beautiful color photo. Some of these photos made me just about drool, especially the Puff Pastry Cake with Dark and White Chocolate Pastry Cream, Mini Chocolate and Vanilla Bavarian Cakes, Chocolate Truffle Tart with Chocolate Glaze, and Chocolate Eclairs with Pastry Cream. if you’re a fan of cannolis, they’re in there too. The book is loaded with lots of personal stories, tips and techniques. This cookbook would be perfect for anyone that enjoys baking, and those that would like to try their hand at making beautiful desserts as you might find in a restaurant or bakery.
ONE winner will receive a copy of Grace’s Sweet Life.
