Hurricane Sandy Approaching The Northeast And Heading For New Jersey – #HurricaneSandy

I may not be cooking much over the upcoming week. It’s too soon to tell. I’ve stocked up on foods that require little prep, and we’ve dug out our tiny portable camping grill. Why? Most of you know by now that Hurricane Sandy is headed up the East Coast. In a recent update no The Weather Channel this morning they said she’s measuring something like 900 miles wide, taking up most of the East coast. The map above from The Weather Channel shows her size. At this point in time it looks like they’re expecting her to make landfall very close to where I live. I don’t typically get very nervous about storms, but I have a bad feeling about this one. My area is well overdue, we’ve been spared from all of the last big storms. For Irene we only got a little rain and never lost power. For Sandy they’re using words like catastrophic, devestating, historic, record breaking, hybrid hurricane, frankenstorm, monster, epic, indescribable – to name but a few. I did the best I could to get everything we might need yesterday. Hubby tried to get things around the house squared away, taking things in like lawn chairs. Schools have already been closed for at least Monday and Tuesday. The state of New Jersey s under a state of emergency. My town is under a local state of emergency, and noone is allowed out on the roads after tonight except for emergency personnel. I’m trying to get a few posts up just in case, as they’re saying we’re likely to lose power for possibly a few days. I’m going to try and update on my main blog Mom Knows It All if possible. If you’re in her way, I hope you stay safe.
