Starbucks is now offering convenient to-go style lunches. The prepackaged meals are called Starbucks Bistro Boxes, and I recently had the opportunity to try one.
There are eight new Bistro Boxes available, each one having under 500 calories:
- Cheese and Fruit Bistro Box
- Chicken & Hummus Bistro Box
- Chicken Lettuce Wraps Bistro Box
- Chipotle Chicken Wraps Bistro Box
- Protein Bistro Box
- Salumi & Cheese Bistro Box
- Sesame Noodles Bistro Box
- Tuna Salad
I like the idea of the bistro box, it’s certainly healthier than fried foods that are readily available on the go. I also like that each box contains daily essentials of protein, vegetables, fruits and whole grains. My local Starbucks only offered one entree size box and one snack size box. We got Chipotle Chicken Bistro Boxes, an entree size. The food did look appealing and seemed fresh. The clear container is certainly convenient, perfect for putting in the fridge at work or eating on the go. The entree size box shown above was $6.95. For that price I would have liked to have seen a bit more food in the box. The snack size Protein Bistro Box was $4.95. Considering Starbucks are all over the place now, these are a good option if you want something healthy and fresh.
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Starbucks Bistro Boxes and received a gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for taking the time to participate.
