REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY – Pillsbury Simply Rustic French Bread And Simply Buttermilk Biscuits
By valmg on Jan 24, 2011 with Comments 81

After work the last thing I want to do is go make bread from scratch. It just isn’t one of the things I aspire to make. Maybe because I’ve heard it’s a lot of work. Maybe it’s because not everyone in my house can eat it so I don’t want to go through the trouble all of the time if I can’t serve it to everyone. When offered the opportunity to try some new ready to bake breads from Pillsbury I accepted. I was curious how it would taste, if the bread would be soft and crusty, if the biscuits would be awful and if they’d be easy to make..

OUR THOUGHTS
I received both the Simply Rustic French Bread and the Simply Buttermilk Biscuits. The products couldn’t have been any easier to make. For the Simply Rustic French Bread all you need to do is open the package, place the bread onto a cookie sheet, make 3 slices in the top and bake. That’s it.

The Simply Buttermilk Biscuits were just as easy to make. All you need to do is remove them from the container, separate them and bake them. Easy! My biscuit pictures were very blurry, this is Pillsbury’s picture.

Both the bread and the biscuit were extremely easy to make. The hardest thing about making either was getting the container open. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. On a second night I baked another loaf and ten minutes before it was finished cooking I removed it from the oven, cut it in half and put garlic butter on it. Yummy! The biscuits were soft and flaky, not dry at all like I was afraid they’d be. I hate dry biscuits. Pillsbury Simply were affordable and worked well for a Mom like me trying to get a fresh tasting dinner on the table without spending hours in the kitchen making it.
