REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY – Edy's Touchdown Sundae Ice Cream
By valmg on Feb 06, 2011 with Comments 60
Edy’s is one of my favorite ice creams. Before I go any further, let me show you the inside of my freezer, in case you doubt me.
I know the picture is lousy, but I think you see that there’s no shortage of Edy’s in my house. There are six containers in that freezer and another two in the other freezer. I love Edy’s for two reasons. Reason 1 is because it tastes so yummy. Reason 2 is because they have so many flavors and always seem to manage to come up with new ones. I love the limited edition flavors, several of which are currently in my freezer. Often times I wish they were available year round. Case in point for two years now – Thin Mint. New to my list this year is Touchdown Sundae, hidden in the back there.

MY THOUGHTS
This flavor was a big hit in my house – no big shocker there. I set out to pick up a container last weekend. There were but three left on the shelf when I got too the store, and another lady was taking two of those. She said they were delicious. I snagged the last one. The vanilla ice cream was rich and creamy, as I expected, with lots of chocolate fudge swirled throughout. There was a good amount of the caramel chocolate footballs, which were a fun texture added to the ice cream and a great conversation piece for football season entertaining. The family gobbled it up and the container was gone within two days. I set out yesterday looking for more, we were doing some entertaining and I wanted to serve it. Two of the stores in my area were out of it, so I’m guessing other people were thinking the same thing as me. This limited edition flavor is very tasty and I recommend it. If you want to taste it you’ll have to hurry as it won’t be available much longer.
