NEW YORK – September 13, 2011 – Cooking Channel delivers a banner fall season serving up three season premieres, two new series, four new specials and countless premiere episodes of fan-favorite series. Cooking Channel staples Chuck’s Day Off, Eat St. and Extra Virgin are back with a bang for season two. Chuck Hughes gives viewers a one-of-a-kind look into life outside of his restaurant beginning Sunday, October 2nd at 4pmET/1pmPT, and James Cunningham takes a cross-country trek in search of America’s best street food in new episodes of Eat St. premiering Tuesday, October 11th at 8pmET/5pmPT. Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos are back in action with special guest stars and a trip to Italy in the new season of Extra Virgin beginning Wednesday, October 19th at 10:30pmET/7:30pmPT. Joining the ranks of Cooking Channel talent, Lorraine Pascale hosts the new series, Simply Baking, premiering Sunday, October 2nd at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT showing viewers that baking can be “easy as pie.” Another fresh face on the network, Lynn Crawford, hosts Pitchin’ In, where she searches for the ideal ingredients, going near and far to find them beginning Thursday, October 20th at 10:30pmET/ 7:30pmPT. Primetime programming also gears up for Halloween in the sweetly spooky Desserts Theme Week Sunday, October 23rd – Friday, October 28th, and the excitement continues with four Cooking Channel specials including The Donatella Project, Off the Menu, Cupcake Confidential and Chefography: Chuck. SEASON PREMIERES

Chuck’s Day Off: Premieres Sunday, October 2nd at 4pmET/1pmPT – “Hospital Staff”

After a scooter accident, Chuck spent a couple of days in the hospital racking up on his fair share of hospital food, but to his surprise, the food was quite delectable. On his day off, Chuck invites the hospital staff over for a meal to repay them for their support.

Eat St.: Premieres Tuesday, October 11th at 8pmET/5pmPT – “The Italian Job”

Season two’s first port of call is San Diego to meet the Mangia Mangia Mobile run by two hot-headed Italians. Biting at the heels is a visit to Austin, Texas to the Pig Vicious Trailer for all things pork related and a visit to the Cazamance Trailer for some sizzling Senegalese cuisine. Finally, things get heated in New Orleans with a fire truck called Dragos that serves charbroiled oysters right off the back.

Extra Virgin: Premieres Wednesday, October 19th at 10:30pmET/7:30pmPT – “Garage Sale”

Debi and Gabriele’s lives have been turned upside down by their family’s move to a new home. They decide to hold a yard sale and invite the entire neighborhood – but not before Gabriele fires up their outdoor pizza oven and makes a Wood-Fired Breakfast Pizza. After treating the neighbors to Fried Tuscan Olives and Debi’s Limoncello Spritzer, they finish out the day with their first family dinner in the new house – Conchiglie with Guanciale and Peas and a Mascarpone and Berry Tarte. They may still be living out of boxes and the RV in the driveway, but cooking delicious Tuscan dishes in the kitchen together makes them feel at home.

SERIES PREMIERES

Simply Baking: Premieres Sunday, October 2nd at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT

Chef, baker and patisserie Lorraine Pascale shares her secrets, passion and knowledge on baking sweet and savory recipes. Featuring old favorites as well as new twists on modern classics, she whips up tips on helpful shortcuts, techniques and kitchen secrets for baking.

· Premieres Sunday, October 2nd at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT – “So Easy”

Lorraine kicks off with her Parmesan and Poppy Seed Lollipops. Then, she whips up simple Soda Bread, Blueberry and Lemon Millefeuille and an “I Can’t Believe You Made That!” Cake in just a few steps.

· Premieres Sunday, October 9th at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT – “Speed Baking”

Lorraine is in the kitchen making Totally Lazy Mini Sausage Rolls and Sun-dried Tomato and Rosemary Palmiers. Then, she whips up Cookies and Cream Fudge Brownies before heading to Paris where she shows viewers how to bake Skinny Tarts and Camembert and Roasted Garlic.

· Premieres Sunday, October 16th at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT – “Very Entertaining”

Lorraine cooks Whiskey and Chilli Tiger Prawns and for dessert serves a creamy Mascarpone and Ginger Crème Brulee. She then demonstrates her speedy recipes for Big Fat Salt and Pepper Breadsticks and Shortbread and Sticky Glazed Asian Ham.

· Premieres Sunday, October 23rd at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT – “Modern Classics”

Lorraine spices up a classic with her Glam Mac and Cheese, and focaccia is on the menu with one of the easiest recipes yet. She also serves Spiced Blackberry, Pear and Apple Pavlova for dessert.

· Premieres Sunday, October 30th at 3:30pmET/12:30pmPT – “Bake to Impress”

Lorraine shows off in the kitchen with a Tomato and Basil Tarte and a classic French bread with Chorizo and Thyme Foie Gras. For dessert Lorraine bakes a Three-Tier Red Velvet Cake.

Pitchin’ In: Premieres Thursday, October 20th at 10:30pmET/7:30pmPT

Lynn Crawford travels to far-flung locations, doing whatever it takes to get the best, freshest ingredients in the world, even if it means putting herself at risk. Throughout her journey, she’ll take on any challenge, relying on locals to show her how it’s done. It’s a dirty job, but Chef Lynn is dying to do it.

Premiering Thursday, October 20th at 10:30pmET/7:30pmPT –“Lamb”

Chef Lynn is a fan of Ontario-raised lamb but has never seen a lamb or sheep up close. She also has no idea of the brute strength required to shear a sheep or trim their toenails – and finds out the hard way. Like many North Americans, her hosts in Prescott County, Ontario are used to eating their lamb well done, but Chef Lynn is on a mission to change that.

· Premiering Thursday, October 27th at 10:30pmET/7:30pmPT – “Oranges”

Most people don’t think about all the work that goes into a glass of orange juice. Chef Lynn visits the oldest organic citrus farm in Crescent City, Fla. with a mission to highlight oranges and tangelos in every course of a meal. To make sure her dinner is perfect, Lynn also confronts her fear of bees to harvest orange blossom honey.

FEATURED SERIES

Easy Chinese: San Francisco

· Premiering Saturday, October 1st at 1pmET/10amPT – “Wok Skills and Simple Stir Fries”

Ching visits San Francisco’s Wok Shop to pick out a wok and the basic tools needed for a home-cooked Chinese meal. After sharing a meal with the shop’s legendary owner Tane Chan, Ching explores the essential sauces, oils and ‘holy trinity’ of Chinese spices – chili, ginger and garlic. She also pays a visit to the Berkley Bowl grocery store to pick up fresh ingredients and whips up some delicious dishes, including Three Cup Chicken, Vegetable Lettuce Wraps and Yangzhou Fried Rice.

· Premiering Saturday, October 8th at 1pmET/10amPT – “Szechuan Spice”

Ching introduces the basics of Szechuan cuisine and joins father and daughter restaurateurs Kathy and Peter Fang for a feast including Mapo Dofu and Szechuan-Style Crispy Shrimp. Next, she heats things up with a visit to the San Jose Farmer’s Market to buy ingredients for her Kung Pao Beef and Spiced-Chocolate Covered Fresh Fruit.

· Premiering Saturday, October 15th at 1pmET/10amPT – “Healthy Takeout Favorites”

Ching travels to the Far West Fungi Mushroom Farm to pick up key ingredients for her fragrant Posh Chop Suey. She is also joined by chef Chris Constantino at San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza Market to scout out the freshest ingredients the city has to offer. To wrap up, Ching teaches a busy family how to make a healthy-homemade version of take out with Sweet and Sour Fish Fillets and Vegetable Chow Mein.

· Premiering Saturday, October 22nd at 1pmET/10amPT – “Fusion Food”

Ching crosses culinary borders when she visits Chef Chris Yeo at Straits Restaurant where they cook up Red Curry Chicken Stir Fry and then Miguel Jara at La Taqueria where Italian meets Chinese with her Italian “fusion” Soba Noodle Salad. In San Francisco’s colorful Mission District, she goes for full-fusion flavor with a soon to be classic—Crispy Duck and Asian Pear Tacos.

· Premiering Saturday, October 29th at 1pmET/10amPT – “Dim Sum”

Delving into Dim Sum, Ching visits Great Eastern Dim Sum to get a peek of the masters at work and then heads south to indulge in seasonal sweets. Joined by sous chefs back in her kitchen, Ching is inspired by her explorations to create sweet and savory dishes including: Prawn and Chive Shui Jiao, Steamed Pork and Mushroom Siu Mai, Roast Pork Pastry Puffs, Gelato, Smoothies and Iced Tea.

ON-AIR THEME WEEK

Desserts Theme Week: Premieres Sunday, October 23rd – Friday, October 28th

Cooking Channel is celebrating Halloween by airing all things dessert in primetime.

Also, host the ultimate Halloween bash with help from CookingChannelTV.com. Set the mood with Nadia G’s Halloween playlist, then serve up her top picks for creepy treats. Famed restaurateur Donatella Arpaia is expanding her food empire to include a consulting business. She’ll come to the rescue of restaurants in need of her skillful guidance on all issues- big and small.

He Cooks, She Cooks (wt): Premieres Sunday, October 16th at 8pmET/5pmPT

Suzanne Goin and David Lentz, two award-winning Los Angeles chefs with six wildly popular restaurants, give viewers a behind-the-scenes look as they prepare for and host a benefit for the Hollywood Farmers Market. Follow along as this married couple with three small children and completely different cooking styles travel and discover the source of their menus, constantly challenging one another to create different dishes using the same ingredients.

Cupcake Confidential: Premieres Sunday, October 23rd at 8pmET/5pmPT

This special follows three cupcake entrepreneurs at different stages in their careers. Brandon, a former rocker that gave up music for cupcakes, pleases his hip Bay-area clients, but his unorthodox managing style puts him at odds with his employees. Erica dreams of becoming the next cupcake princess of Los Angeles as she transitions from an online cupcakery to a fixed storefront, but realizes that without the presence of celebrity clients, her grand opening may not be as grand as she hoped. Hollis, a well-established cupcake artist in Orlando, Fla. may have bitten off more than she can chew by agreeing to take on two events on the same day at the same time.

Chefography: Chuck: Premieres Sunday, October 30th at 8pmET/5pmPT

Chuck Hughes is an accomplished chef, restaurant owner and successful television host – all before the age of 34. This special highlights Chuck’s exciting new endeavors as his career is just getting started.

A Cook’s Tour: Premieres Tuesday, October 4th at 9:30pmET/6:30pmPT

A Cook’s Tour takes us along for a ride with chef and writer Anthony Bourdain as he travels the world in search of rare, legendary and sometimes dangerous foods. Some of the locales and delicacies are challenging, others are more familiar as he travels from the heart of dark Cambodia to the streets of sun drenched Los Angeles.

Anthony Bourdain and his brother take a trip back to Arcachon, France, his ancestral home where he first realized his love for food. They reminisce on steak frites, waffles and fishermen’s soup, and how one oyster shaped his destiny.

    San Francisco’s Chinese section has the best restaurants–so this show should be excellent.
